My Health My Muscles

Here I am. A friend of mine complained that I do not update my Blog regularly. I say 'True, True' but you may well ask 'WHY'. Laziness is one thing and the other being time. Since I now work and copy edit and do the housework and cooking and gardening etc etc, quality time is a thing of the past for me. If I want the latter I have to shelf some activity and that has become sacrificing my 'walks' and the little time I spend on my treadmill or my low impact exercises. It is so easy to just want to sit in front of my new 40" LCD HDTV.

But all said and done I must do 2 things and that is to update my Blog regularly and start exercising. With my part time maid gone on a break for 3 weeks my muscles are taking a beating. I tend to tear my muscles very easily and pull my nerves. The other day I picked up my sister's 400 + pages book for editing and while trying to turn around to place it on the back seat of the car my right arm felt a terrible pain and I had to stop in my tracks!!!

So like my Blog reads ' My Health, My Wealth' this has to be my niche.I shall shortly start researching and actually practising what I am about to preach in my future blog updates. And I shall start with my muscles. So until next week.......look out for more on "My health, My Muscles'.

Better Late Than Never

I have been out of action for awhile....WHY???.....U may ask....I have not been totally free - I have had the good fortune of my friends introducing me to some clients and I have been working as a part time Accountant and these are now coming to an end and so I chanced upon some websites and forums on online blogging and decided since I already have a Blog in place.....why not continue it.

I am now 59 years old....I should not have to work except perhaps to earn a little to pay some expenses and mind you these expenses are not so little anymore. Its becoming frightfully expensive to eat out yet one needs a break from the kitchen every now and then. I am fortunate to have only one grown up son, who is fairly independent and or so busy so much so I am left to amuse myself and which I do.

I copy-edit and proofread for a local publisher and that's fun. I get to read new books before they are even out on the shelves!! I saw one the other day 'Too Big To Fail' in Borders and I was so excited....hey everyone I proof read and copy-edited this book!!! My son had to calm me now before I could make a spectacle of myself...........but it felt so good!!

My garden give me great joy too !!! I am uploading it here. Hope you like it---if anyone reads this blog!!!! Arent my flowers gorgeous and they smell great too as they have the fragrance similar to jasmine. Enjoy is all I can say.

Happy Vaisakhi to any punjabi that reads this blog!!! My maid has come to chase me out of my room...............to be continued folks!!

Best Friends Foerever (BFF)

When you make friends at my age they usually fall in the category of acquaintances becos' I feel one is past making friends that will last forever. So when I met Mark (not his real name) it was a totally new experience for me as not only did we click we actually became BFFs. Its been 2 years now, however a recent incident in my life changed all that. It truly confirmed that friends made in one's later stage of one's life definitely cannot be compared to friends of yester years. I do not want to elaborate but it saddened me and all I can say is 'When new friends are made, forsake not the old ones for the new'.

There's Hope yet!

I am trying and trying that's all Ican say. I am never one to give up!! My son started his course in finance/Accounting yesterday so I have a bit more quality time for myself - My Time to make the most of my life......so who knows.....trying to make a living online maybe just round the corner for me.

I have always believed that the good Lord above watches over me. If something is not right it will not happen for me and many incidences in my life over the years are proof of that. As a little girl I was the victim of a 'hit & run' accident in Singapore while crossing the road. Even as of today I can still recall being hit, rolling under the car and coming out the other side completely unscathed!!! - not a bump nor a scratch...the Doctor just quipped... she is just one lucky girl. There are other incidences too which I will not elaborate here but believe me there is a superior being looking after all of us for our own good.

Anyone out there wanna make a comment - please, please do........I am waiting.

I feel great!!!. The Quantum Pendant has really turned my life around. But when you are 57 years old everyone sees only that number and in fact conjures up visions of an old lady! So I say 'No takers' becos' when you apply or ring up for a job vacancy the first thing they say is....nothing....becos' there's an awkward moment of silence.....then 'so old ah! Better you stay at home and enjoy your retirement. No need to work!!'

Its really sad so here I am wanting so much to do something on the net but it appears to be so hard. There are so many things you dont understand and so many people out there to con you promising the earth and all the way up to the heavens!!! - who do you believe. But still I am not one to give up cos' I'll get back on the horse again and continue to slowly trot until I can gallop and hopefully race towards my goal - but then again I may win the lottery!! Who knows....until the next time...tyr and try again will be my motto!!

Never Say Die!!! That's always been my motto in life...explore...East,West,North and South... no direction should remain unexplored, no pages unturned and trying and keep trying you'll get there somehow seems to be the only way these days......I so wanna learn to ' How to make a living Online'.

Yesterday I managed to add another feature to my blogspot --the Shoutbox..its so cool. And what's so great I actually had someone make a comment and you can see it as you read my blog. Thanks YamBem whoever you are!!! You really made my day.........

My Indulgences, my wealth............

In this retirement phase of my life all I can say is I have the time to sit back, relax and smell the roses....in this case observe a butterfly as it flits and floats from one flower to another ..... and on the other hand indulgence in one of my passions, cooking, baking and trying new recipes while making all time favourites when friends come a calling. You will love my chocolate brownie - I am not good at decorating but you can see my son could not wait to cut out a bite for himself the minute it came out of the oven....mmm...mmm yummy yummy with vanilla ice cream... care to come over for a bite??

As the old adage goes ' Health is wealth' !! Its precisely that...today as I follow on from my earlier post I am a hundred times better in more ways than one. For one thing if only you knew what a mess (health wise of course) I was in last year you'd marvel at what I am up to these days.

With menopause came a string of injuries - torn right hand muscles, a sprained left ankle and knee and a left tennis elbow - all one after another and to top it all I was hit by vertigo!!

With no maid and all the household chores to do, aches and pains in my joints, unable to take evening walks with my friends which I habitually did - my deteriorting health made me wonder if my days were coming to an end. Doctors' prescriptions did not agree with me as I have allergies to medicines - I turned to alternative healing methods - chinese massage, reflexology, yoga, herbal medicines - yes they all helped but the best of all is when I was introduced to the Quantum Pendant.

When I first started this blog I said 'Life is not a Blast'. Let me tell you why....at age 57 lots of changes take place. Women in my age group and I think men too experience alot of body changes - I felt great until about 2 years ago. Wham!!! Menopause set in all of a sudden........I had none of the symptoms some of my buddies and sisters experienced for years...but when it hit me, it hit me bad.

My muscles tore so easily, my joints ached, sleepless nights, injured my foot and knee and in the process developed a tennis elbow and worse still latterly ' Vertigo'. GOD I called out ...WHY Me????

One would think that as life progresses it would ultimately evolve into bigger and better things - and does it?? No nonooooo.....in the last 2 years life has changed but not in the manner I thought it would. I have only this to say ... while you can..............

Many years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do then by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines and sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails!!!

It may be just a little too late for me but for all of you who still can do, do the things that you long to do----Time and Tide waits for no man.
